Children and Teens
Children face a very complicated world, and it is incredible how much and how fast they have to learn in order to have a successful life later on. Their first task is to figure out the dynamics of the family into which they are born. A child can sometimes survive the complexity and contradiction of their primary world only by withdrawal, developing emotional difficulties, or by becoming seriously sick. In many cases, a child's emotional problems are a symptom for the dysfunctional relationship between the parents. I have treated a wide range of problems in children: acting out, school problems, early depression, attention-deficit disorder, bipolar disorders, enuresis and encopresis, and the relational problems that result from divorce, or the absence of a parent.
Since my approach is oriented towards the family system, I will occasionally include the parents and siblings as well.
